1963 Shelby 289 Cobra 'Dragonsnake'

With only three ever produced, this was the most successful drag-racing version of the Shelby Cobra. It was originally built as a standard 289 Cobra. A short time later, it was purchased by a Pennsylvania owner who decided to use it for drag racing, something that required major modifications.

To make it stand out, the car was painted with 31 coats of fuchsia metallic paint. After a successful drag-racing career, the car went through several owners -- and several paint jobs -- before ultimately being restored to its championship appearance.
