Since it was minted in 1933, the gold Double Eagle coin has endured a tumultuous history worthy of an adventure movie.
One of the last gold coins ever to be minted in the United States, it has been stolen, shipped to Egypt, hidden, and almost destroyed by fire twice.
Its value in 1933 was $20, but it sold for $7.6 million at a Sotheby's auction in 2002.
