There was a lot of pressure on me as a new hostess. I spent two weeks getting chewed out by servers having bad days. Hostesses are punching bags for servers.

That died down when I got a hold of things and got in the swing of what a hostess does.

One big stress is when I'm the only hostess working. I will greet and seat people, bus the tables and make sure that I stop what I'm doing and greet customers when they walk in.

I help out the servers a lot when I can and they are happy with me for the most part, along with some of the bartenders that know me when I work. Even some of the kitchen workers see how hard I work. I come in the kitchen a lot when I'm bussing tables.

You get paid the minimum wage and have to keep a happy face on you or have the customers asking why you are angry. Being a hostess is not for the faint of heart. But I was out of work for a while and I'm very happy that I got this job no matter how stressful it is.
