For an exclusive CNNMoney list, research firm Universum Global surveyed college students around the world to see where they most want to work.

McKinsey & Co.

  • Rank among business students: 11
  • Rank (engineering students): 25

Headquarters: New York, NY
No. of employees: 14,000

What makes it great: Joining ranks with McKinsey means sharing a lineage with an impressive alumni base -- 300 former employees are CEOs of companies with revenues over $1 billion -- not to mention working for the firm's powerful clientele. The management consultancy prides itself on hiring top-notch talent and invests more than $100 million a year in training. Collaborative teams and supportive mentors are key to company culture.

What they're looking for: New grads usually join the firm as business analysts, and often are hired via McKinsey's internship program. Applicants don't necessarily need a business major. "We are looking for strong problem solvers with potential -- we will teach you the rest," the company's careers site says. The company has a strong client-first mentality, and candidates should demonstrate that mindset as well.
