1940s: B-6 Switcher Steam

In the 1940s, the company added the B-6 Switcher Stream Locomotive and coal car, a replica of the actual Pennsylvania Railroad B-6 class switcher. The Pennsylvania Railroad, which was founded in 1846 and became one of the largest railroads in U.S. history, provided inspiration for many of Lionel's trains over the years.
