Hottest new Star Wars toys unveiled

BB-8 is one of the most-anticipated new Star Wars toys.

The rolling robotic toy is based on its character from the upcoming film "Star Wars: The Force Awakens," which hits theaters December 18.

The app-enabled BB-8 is 4.4 inches high and has a dome-shaped head that's magnetically attached to its spherical body. The unique shape allows its free-rolling movement, said Paul Berberian, CEO of Sphero, the startup behind the toy.

Through the app and a series of built-in voice commands, BB-8 can show expressions and move around on its own. BB-8 users can also create and view holographic messages using the app.

BB-8, priced at $149.99, requires three hours of charge time for one hour of play.
