A year after it debuted, ThinkPad became the laptop of choice for NASA's space missions.
The ThinkPad's inaugural mission was on the Space Shuttle Endeavor on Dec. 2, 1993. Several ThinkPad 750s were loaded with schematics of the Hubble Space Telescope to help astronauts repair it. The ThinkPads continue to be used on the International Space Station.
