The ThinkPad has always been among the more innovative laptops -- none moreso than the 701's "butterfly" keyboard.
The keyboard folded down and outwards when the laptop was opened, allowing people to work on a full-sized keyboard while working on a narrow laptop. The ThinkPad 701 is on display in New York's Museum of Modern Art.
