Until now, VR has only been available at the very high-end of the spectrum (systems like Oculus Rift or HTC Vive that require expensive PCs) or the low end (headsets for your smartphone). PlayStation VR ($399) sits in the middle, providing a deep experience while being accessible to anyone with a PlayStation 4.

The lineup of games skews more toward short, immersive experiences over hardcore games, but they're fairly diverse so far. Eagle Flight ($40) takes you soaring through an abandoned Paris, while Batman: Arkham VR ($20) is all about tapping into the cerebral side of the Dark Knight by analyzing crimes (and just hanging out in the Batcave). There's even a Star Wars X-Wing battle based on the new film Rogue One. This is a free add-on to last year's Star Wars Battlefront, which can often be found for less than its original $60 price.
