Yes the Anki Drive is a game, but it's much more than just a toy.

Revealed at Apple's (AAPL) World Wide Developers Conference in June, each car in the racing game is equipped with artificial intelligence. They able to react to the position of other cars on the track, and they can "communicate" with one another to provide a specific challenge for human-controlled cars.

This proof of concept may be small, but there will eventually be a day when technology like this will be used in larger vehicles and machines.
