Sahurovs has repeatedly tricked online news sites into running advertisements for his fake hotel chain.

When the news sites displayed the ads, they were laced with malware. The virus hijacked the computers of visitors to the news sites, who were each told to pay a $50 ransom. Those who didn't pay were flooded with "security alert" pop-ups.

He's thought to be in the Latvian town of Rezekne near the Russian border, or occasionally in Kiev, Ukraine.
