Facebook's top leaders are flexing their political muscle this cycle, contributing to their favorite party, or hoping to influence policy by giving to the company's political action committee.
Facebook's highest-paid executive served as chief of staff to Larry Summers, Treasury Secretary during the Clinton administration. So, it's no surprise Sandberg is a huge supporter of Democrats.
So far in 2012, Sandberg has given $30,800 to the Democratic National Committee, $5,000 to President Obama, $10,000 to the Facebook PAC and dozens of smaller contributions to congressional Democrats. She gave to one Republican: $2,500 to Sen. Olympia Snowe of Maine.
She has given to Democrats in past elections, strongly supporting Hillary Clinton's presidential bid in 2008.
