Seeing Shelby's success with this car, Ford Motor Co. asked him to help with the Ford GT40 race car, the car that famously beat Ferrari at the LeMans 24-hour race in the mid-1960s and inspired the latter-day Ford GT.
While original Ford GT40s are extremely valuable today, this car's unique, original and iconic status should make it even more valuable still.
