Calling all 'jetrosexuals'

NEW YORK (CNN/Money) - There's a new type of "sexual" in town, and Virgin Atlantic wants to say thank you to the lucky leader of the pack.

The airline is looking for the best of what it has dubbed "jetrosexuals" or the "new jetsetters," and it is willing to reward this frequent flyer with two roundtrip Upper Class tickets to London.

Ignoring borders and time zones, they make the world smaller with each journey, the company said, and it is these travelers that have made the airline a successful venture for Virgin.

"When I started Virgin Atlantic, we launched with just one flight. Everybody and I mean everybody said the business would not succeed," Sir Richard Branson, Chairman of Virgin Atlantic, said in a statement.

"That is why it is so important to celebrate those individuals -- the entrepreneurs, the rock stars of their industries -- that work hard and deliver, even in the face of what others see as impossible."

The airline says travelers who define this new emerging business culture are those who "leave the terra firma behind each day to move business and culture forward."

But simply getting on the plane isn't enough. The 11 Commandments of the "jetrosexual" include tenets such as "thou shalt be able to order a beer in six different languages" and "thou shalt have at least one passport stamp from a country that now goes by a different name."

For those who abide by these commandments, Virgin wants to know in no more than 200 words why that person should be "the ultimate jetrosexual."

Nominations will be accepted through Sept. 15, semi-finalists will be announced Sept. 30, and the final announcement will take place Oct. 17.

Nominee registration forms can be found at

Early nominees include interior designer Dennis Duffy of Duffy Design Group, Mike O'Neil, founder and CEO of GetWellNetwork, Inc., Joanne Chang, founder of Flour Bakery, and Warren Brown of CakeLove.
