Trista with her husband, Mark; daughter, Nia; and son, Marcus
I am giving part of the check to workforce development nonprofits and am spending the rest in the nonprofit sector and with local merchants (e.g. Goodwill stores, museum shops, Habitat for Humanity home building supply store).
I think that the best way to stimulate the local economy is to spend the money in the part of the economy that is dedicated to making my community a better place to work and live.
I am part of an initiative called Community 2.0 that is dedicated to making Minneapolis/St. Paul a better place to work, live and become civically engaged. We are working together to encourage our friends and family to spend a part of their stimulus check in the nonprofit sector.
