In the movies, the tire slasher extends from the wheel hub. In actuality, it's a separate piece that screws on.
The car has been seen in public only rarely in the past 40 years, spending most of its life in storage. RM Auctions has done restoration work on the car, which has about 30,000 miles on it. RM worked on the car's engine, brakes, exhaust system and clutch.
"I've driven it and it's strong, " said Don Rose, a car specialist with RM Auctions. "It makes all the right noises and there's no smoke, except when you press the magic button."
