Second place on the list of top rental cities, Seattle hasn't suffered the rate of foreclosures and high unemployment many other cities have had, keeping prices to buy relatively high."It's still a renters' market," said Ashley Hayes, a partner at Seattle Rental Group. "There's a lot of skepticism to jump back in the market and Seattle is getting a lot of new hires from out of town who don't want to buy a home yet, so a lot of people are looking to rent rather than buy."
And the deals are there, with a glut of homes for rent that aren't being sold. Hayes said she just rented a furnished one bedroom condo for $1595 a month that was going for $1950 a couple years ago.
