Holding on to resale value
Resale value -- something Toyota vehicles are known for -- suffered as a result of the recalls. In fact, there's even a class action suit against Toyota over lost resale value.
While there was short-term damage to Toyota's used car value, things have largely gone back to normal, according to the analysts at Kelley Blue Book.
Toyota's been helped, in part, by the fact that used car values are up throughout the industry. What's hurting Toyota resale values now has less to do with the recalls than the competition's newer, better products, said Kelley Blue Book analyst Alec Gutierrez.
