Magana flew into New York on Tuesday from Wisconsin, where she was active in protesting that state's proposed budget cuts earlier this year.
"The money needs to come out of politics," she said. "The wealthy buy lobbyists, who pay politicians" to do the bidding of special interests to the detriment "of the other 99% of us."
A social-media fueled plan to #OccupyWallStreet brought hundreds of protesters to Manhattan's financial center starting Saturday, Sept. 17.
