This is Activision's first foray into non-video game toys. For the first time ever, players can bring their toys to life in the Skylanders: Spyro's Adventure game.
Kids can collect real-world toys and teleport them directly into the game using a "Portal of Power" device, which is a round flat disc.
Each toy character contains an internal "brain," or chip, that remembers all of its experiences throughout the game. When you put the toy character onto the portal, you see the character come alive in the game. You can put two characters together on the disc and watch both come alive in the game to either play together or battle each other.
There are more than 30 toy characters to choose from. Each character pack, which includes 1 character and 1 trading card, is priced at $7.99.
