Author, business entrepreneur, and reality TV star Bethenny Frankel ("Real Housewives of New York City") debuted her Skinnygirl alcohol brand in 2009 with the Skinnygirl Margarita. The mixed drink was such a success that Frankel sold the cocktail to Beam Global Spirits this year for $120 million. Since then, Frankel has come out with a white sangria, a restorative cleansing system (convenient for a morning after one too many cocktails), and a skin care line.
In September, Skinnygirl Margarita was pulled off Whole Foods shelves after the retailer reportedly discovered that the premixed cocktail wasn't as natural as Frankel claimed it to be. While the bottle didn't have ingredients listed on the label, Frankel had touted the drink to be made of "all natural" ingredients, including tequila and agave nectar. Salt was further poured on the brand's wound after a pair of customers filed a $10 million class action lawsuit alleging false advertising.
