Huntington's Asterisk-Free Checking really is asterisk-free -- no maintenance fees, no catch. Charges for other checking services are generally lower than the national counterparts. The bank also recently introduced a "24-Hour Grace" program, which allows customers to make up any insufficient funds within the next business day to avoid fees.
Huntington mobile apps made their debut in June; remote deposit is coming soon. Recognized for strong customer service. Savings rates range from 0.05% to 0.1% -- not awesome, but on par with bigger banks.
