Jeffrey E. Sitt's moving trucks are environmentally-friendly and bedbug-free.
That's because the owner of iMoveGreen treats his vehicles with heat and organic pesticides to make sure he doesn't have unwanted passengers.
Demand for his service is strong, because many people are worried about bedbugs, he said.
Sitt bought the 25-year-old moving company two years ago, made it eco-friendly and renamed it iMoveGreen. His trucks run on bio-diesel fuel and his warehouse and office run on wind power.
But he soon realized that bedbugs could become a liability.
To get rid of them, he uses propane heaters, which heat his trucks to 120 degrees for 45 to 60 minutes before a move -- and organic pesticides.
iMoveGreen is the only certified EPA green power partner moving company in the United States, and Sitt said that his bedbug-fighting measures have attracted more customers.
"I have no doubt it's increased business or at least solidified in people's minds to use our moving company over the next one," he said.
