Really Simple Syndication (RSS) isn't exactly dead so much as changing. The old school way of grabbing information via Google Reader has given way to smarter apps like Flipboard that filter RSS feeds for mainstream users. And the ever-increasing popularity of Facebook, Twitter and Google means people now more than ever get their news filtered and aggregated from non-RSS sources.
