The big Mercedez SUV built in Alabama doesn't fare any better than the S-class. It performed poorly in road tests, ranks in the lower 50% in reliability, and scored less than half the average in overall value. Drivers pay $1.36 for every mile they travel. Perhaps Mercedes should reengineer its absolutist advertising tag line, "The best or nothing," in favor of something more moderate.
