If you've ever had an x-ray, you may be familiar with having to receive your scans on a DVD issued by the hospital. It's a bit of a clunky process that medical imaging software firm MIM Software Inc. are trying to ease. Mobile MIM was originally created to give radiologists a convenient and accurate platform to read and diagnose scans, even outside of the hospital. This December, the company received FDA clearance to release its upgraded version that allows radiologists and patients to access X-ray and ultrasound scans through the Mobile MIM cloud. While the company says it doesn't keep track of an exact number of users, it reports "tens of thousands" of people have downloaded the free app since its launch in December.
