From China Mobile to China Unicom, Wang Jianzhou has been one of the most influential figures in China's telecommunications industry. Last year, Wang Jianzhou was honored with the GSM Association Chairman's Award at the GSMA Mobile World Congress held in Barcelona. The award was established in 1995 and is the highest honor accorded by the GSMA to individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development of the global mobile communications industry.
Wang is a doctorate-level senior engineer, but as the head of a company that is listed in three different markets, he regularly meets with investors and analysts around the globe. He likes to read management books and had previously recommended two books, which were

Good to Great by Jim Collins. Wang's corporate goal is not only about making profits, but also about becoming a global player. In an interview with Fortune China recently, he talked about the importance of the "soft power" with respect to a company as well as a country.
