I believe it doesn't matter how confident you are, how old you are, what class you're in, when you get laid off, it's going to get into your mind, at some point. Even if it's only for five seconds, there will be a moment of...it's my fault.
I actually had terrible sleep last night, and I had nightmares all night that they hired me back, only I couldn't work in my office. I had to work in the closet. And like, I wasn't allowed to tell anyone that they hired me back.
You know, it's still really fresh right now. I still have to figure out what this means, what I'm supposed to do, how I'm going to pay my bills, how I'm going to be a responsible person and get a job. I'm obviously still reeling...and really bitter. Not bitter. Trying not to be bitter. I'm sorry if I'm a little bit Pollyanna, but weren't we taught that good behavior gets rewarded? Weren't we taught that "be all you can be" and "live the American dream" and go and get a job and be good at it?
