These are some of the most interesting multi-million dollar cars for sale at this year's Pebble Beach collector car auctions.
This car's magnificent body, including red lizard-skin seats, was created by French coach builder Saoutchik. Originally owned by Standard Oil director Frederick Henry Bedford Jr., this car was exhibited at the 1929 New York Auto Salon and featured in advertisements for Mercedes-Benz of New York.
Bedford used the car to woo his future bride, Margaret Stewart. Stewart was dating another man at the time, but Bedford offered her a ride in this car. Her old boyfriend, driving his own car, couldn't keep up with the supercharged Mercedes. "After that, there was no one else for me," Stewart later told her granddaughter.
The car recently went through a meticulous restoration that even involved getting new lizard hides from southeast Asia. It then went on to win Best in Show at last year's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance.
