Now, all things being equal, I'd tend to go for the Vsport for only a few thousand more than the mid-level V6. It's just more fun. Alas, all things aren't equal. At least for now, you can't get all wheel drive on the Vsport and, especially for those who live in snowy areas, that could be a deal killer.
But there's a reason for that. The VSport has a very nice eight-speed transmission. It's smooth and responsive. But, at least for now, Cadillac is not offering that eight-speed with all-wheel-drive. The all-wheel-drive models get a six-speed transmission.
These could be hard decisions to make. It also won't be easy to choose between a German luxury sedan and a new CTS. The simple fact is the CTS is just as good as what you'd get from Europe, but it's different. It feels tighter. The connection to the car and the road feels more direct and real. It's different and it's refreshing. Welcome back to the fight, Cadillac.
