When it comes to choosing a transmission on the Fiesta ST, you have two options. You can either get a six-speed manual or you can get a different car.
The good news is it's honestly one of the best-feeling manual shifters I've used in a front-wheel drive car. The Fiesta's high-up seating position, typical of subcompacts, makes it a bit of an awkward downward reach. It feels a little like stirring a pot of soup from a high chair. But the shifter slaps smartly from one gear to the next. It makes you want to go faster and faster just so you can shift again and again.
