Better handling

The suspension on this Mustang is also completely new. The rear suspension is now an independent system in which the back wheels aren't connected by a solid axle, as they have been in almost every Mustang since the car was introduced in 1964.

Besides improved ride and handling qualities, an all-new front suspension design allows the car to have bigger brakes for better stopping. The car also has a stiffer, lighter body which also contributes to added control and responsiveness, Ford says.
