This 1972 Skyline GT-R is a precursor of the high-performance GT-R sports cars Nissan sells in the U.S. today.
At the time this car was built, most Americans were unaware of the Skyline GT-R, a model that was created to race in the Japanese Grand Prix series but wasn't for sale in the States.
In subsequent years, however, the model would attain cult status among American enthusiasts, eventually leading Nissan to introduce it in the U.S.
