The car was developed with input from Ferrari's professional racing programs as well as the brand's XX program which allows "gentleman test-drivers" -- or selected extremely wealthy Ferrari customers -- to buy and drive track-only cars with seven-figure price tags.
A lot of the engineering work went into refining computerized electronic controls that help the driver maintain control at extreme speeds.
