FanDuel is a fantasy sports service that was started in 2009 by Lesley Eccles and four others, including her husband.
The couple used their life savings to get the startup off the ground, working for a year and a half without a salary. The company now has 300 employees and offices in Edinburgh, New York, LA and Orlando.
Eccles, who serves as marketing director, helped turn the firm into a household name in the U.S. through extensive TV advertising campaigns.
Plans to merge with fantasy sports service DraftKings were dropped in July.
