This photograph shows toasters and other electronic appliances on display at Sears. The company also began to expand its selection of clothing in the 1950s. In 1963, Sears sales exceeded $5 billion. By 1970, Sears was considered untouchable by any of its rivals. In 1974, completion of Sears Tower in Chicago also made Sears the owner of the world's tallest building.
