Vlad Tenev, whose family immigrated from Bulgaria when he was a child, said he wants to help people become more empowered financially.
"I think success would be building a really, really big company that defines the category and improving the lives of as many people as possible," Tenev told CNNMoney.
"We hear from customers all the time about how they've started investing early. They wouldn't have the ability to do it if it wasn't for our product, and it sort of started a lifelong passion....It's gotten them to learn more, and it's actually turned people into savers for the first time ever."
