'Tis the season for holiday jobs. Hiring is well underway, and these 10 companies are bringing on the most seasonal workers.
GameStop (GME) plans to hire 17,000 workers including 3 to 15 part-time "game advisors" in each store. The company is focusing its recruiting effort on large cities like New York, Los Angeles, Atlanta, Chicago, and San Francisco.
Positions also include 200 part-time jobs at GameStop's refurbishment operation center in Grapevine, Texas, and two distribution centers.
Seasonal hires start at minimum wage, and some video game knowledge is preferred, but not required, said company spokesman Joey Mooring. Applicants must also have a high school diploma or GED and be at least 16 years old.
Mooring recommends job seekers visit GameStop stores in person, and bring an application form, which can be downloaded from the company's website.
