Swedish men shoulder at least 46% of the burden, doing about 3-1/2 hours of housework each day, as opposed to more than 4 hours for women.

In most countries, the chore gap narrows as more women work in paid jobs. In Sweden's case, about 78% of women work outside the home -- the second highest labor participation rate for women in the world, after Iceland.
