Carly Fiorina got her start in the business world as a secretary at a small real estate company called Marcus & Millichap in Palo Alto, California. It only had nine people at the time, her campaign says, and was located down the street from Hewlett-Packard (HPQ), the company she would one day run as CEO.
Fiorina also notes that she was a "Kelly Girl" while she was earning her bachelor's degree at Stanford University. That was a fancy way of saying a temp worker. She was assigned to work as a temp secretary at HP.
