Steve Alie is willing to bet his three restaurants that Detroit will emerge from its bankruptcy financially stronger.
Alie owns a Salsarita's Fresh Cantina and Chop Fresh Salad Company in the food court of General Motors' headquarters in downtown Detroit, and he's got another Salsarita's location in a Detroit suburb.
While his business suffered during the auto maker's bankruptcy in 2009, he said he has not experienced similar declines during the city's bankruptcy proceedings.

Alie expressed optimism about the potential for growth in downtown Detroit when the city emerges from bankruptcy. In fact, he is currently looking to open another Salsarita's location in the downtown area.
"I'm actually pretty optimistic and feel good that this bankruptcy has finally happened," he said. "Let's get over it. Let's move forward."
