The Austrian capital -- with a population of 1.8 million -- is pretty laid back too. The average employee clocks in 1,678 hours per year and receives 27 days of paid vacation.

On top of that, Vienna is considered the second most "livable" city in the world, after Melbourne, Australia, according to the Economist Intelligence Unit.

The city has a reputation for good living standards, solid infrastructure and a sound healthcare system.
