Quick camera access
Why we like it: Getting to the camera app when your PC or tablet is locked is much easier with Windows 8.1's lock screen shortcut. Though tablets or PCs aren't ideal for photography, there may be a time when you need to take a photo in a hurry and that device is the only camera you have.
How to use it: From the lock screen, swipe downwards anywhere on the screen. Say cheese?
