Nintendo DS (2004)
3 of 8
This was Iwata's first home run.
The Nintendo DS was a total redesign of the handheld gaming device. It featured two screens. The bottom one was a touch screen. And it used a stylus. At the time, these were just... weird.
But the graphics were spectacular. Plus, the touch screen gave games a new feel -- and a glimpse at the future.
It was a huge hit everywhere. Nintendo ended up selling 154 million Nintendo DS devices, making it the second most popular gaming console ever.
