Compare Fort Collins to Top 10 Best Places
Much of Fort Collins' success rests on the back of Colorado State University, its largest employer and research hub. Firms that have flocked to this Rocky Mountain town range from stalwarts like Hewlett-Packard to newcomers like Otterbox, which makes an indestructible phone case. On the nearly endless list of things to do: beer tasting at microbreweries, biking around its historic downtown (the inspiration for Disneyland's Main Street, U.S.A.), and white-water rafting. One small flaw: Some of Fort Collins' public schools have been cited for structural safety problems. --L.G.Subscribe to Money Magazine
