Florida might be a haven for retirees, but the master planners of Coral Springs wanted to keep their town young, adding dozens of parks and a 182-acre Sportsplex that offers kids' recreation classes galore. Today 27% of the city's population is under 18. Coral Springs' housing market collapsed with the rest of the Sunshine State's, but a city-organized task force dedicated to the maintenance of foreclosed properties has helped mitigate the impact. --E.R.
