XM radio is said to be working on a live data feed that will show gas prices at nearby stations. The data will be displayed in some cars' advanced navigation systems. That's just another of the new tricks satellite radio has up its sleeve.
As a basic music service, Sirius and XM satellite radio let you pick a station you like, set it, and forget it instead of switching between stations or digging around for CDs. And for the most part, there are still no commercials.
Satellite radio does a lot more than just radio these days, too. Navigation and weather data can be incorporated into some cars' navigation systems.
