OhioHealth describes itself as a place "where people want to work, where physicians want to practice and, most importantly, where patients want to go when they need health care services." There's some truth to that statement: OhioHealth has very low employee turnover (about 7 percent) and many long-term workers. More than 25 percent of the staff has been there for more than 16 years.
A "reasonable" minimum wage has been established for all positions in the lower-wage grades - it currently exceeds the federal minimum wage by 62 percent. Unlike many hospitals, OhioHealth offers a generous bonus program. In 2006 registered nurses averaged bonuses of $15,378, while pharmacists took in an additional $10,799.
