The experience: I have swooned already about the GT-R, but this twin-turbo, all-wheel-drive-enhanced rocket ride deserves more ink. On the track the car was almost too capable and refined: While going over 100 mph down the straight in other cars spiked my heart rate consistently, the GT-R was so confident that I had to keep looking at the speedo to confirm my velocity. I'd beg for a bit less electronic intervention and a bit more engine note, but I'm splitting hairs. It has the most driver-centric cockpit of them all, filled with gizmos good enough to (almost) distract you from the drive.
The verdict: The best dollar-to-horsepower bargain of the bunch, and a relative sleeper on the road compared with the expensively extroverted lines of the other cars.
