M&F Worldwide, a holding company, first appeared at No. 86 on our 2004 FSB 100 list. The company joined the billionaire's club after the 2007 acquisition of John H. Harland, a financial-software publishing company. The new subsidiary generated $750.8 million of M&F's $1.47 billion revenue last year. The price of the Harland acquisition: $1.7 billion.
